Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 P.M. EST Tuesday 3 March 2026 for today tonight and Wednesday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Western Lake Superior.
7 tenths new lake ice including 2 tenths thick lake ice except 9
plus tenths thick lake ice along parts of the southern shore and
northeast of Isle Royale. Consolidated thick lake ice in the
northern bays and along parts of the southern shore. Consolidated
thick lake ice including 4 tenths very thick lake ice in Black Bay
and Nipigon Bay. 

Eastern Lake Superior.
2 tenths thick lake ice except 9 tenths thin lake ice including 2
tenths thick lake ice along parts of the eastern shore. Consolidated
thick lake ice along parts of the southern and eastern shores. 

Whitefish Bay
North Channel.
Consolidated thick lake ice. 

Northern Lake Huron.
4 tenths thin lake ice including 1 tenth thick lake ice except 9
plus tenths thick lake ice along the eastern shores. Consolidated
thick lake ice along parts of the shore and in the Straits of
Mackinac. 

Southern Lake Huron.
7 tenths thin lake ice including 2 tenths thick lake ice except 9
plus tenths thick lake ice along parts of the eastern shore.
Consolidated thick lake ice along parts of the shore and in Saginaw
Bay. 

Georgian Bay.
8 tenths thick lake ice. Consolidated thick lake ice along parts of
the shores. 

Lake St. Clair.
9 tenths thick lake ice except consolidated thick lake ice in the
extreme eastern section. 

Western Lake Erie.
7 tenths thin lake ice including 3 tenths thick lake ice except 9
tenths thick lake ice in the extreme southeastern section and in
parts of Western Basin. Consolidated thick lake ice along parts of
the shore. 

Eastern Lake Erie.
9 tenths thick lake ice. Consolidated thick lake ice along parts of
the shore. 

Western Lake Ontario.
Open water except 9 tenths new lake ice along parts of the southern
shore. 5 tenths medium lake ice near Toronto. 

Eastern Lake Ontario.
2 tenths new lake ice except 9 tenths thick lake ice in the extreme
eastern section. Consolidated thick lake ice along parts of the
shore. 

Northern Lake Michigan.
2 tenths thick lake ice except 9 tenths new lake ice including 2
tenths thick lake ice north of and east of Fox Islands. Consolidated
medium lake ice in southern Grand Traverse Bay. Consolidated thick
lake ice north of and east of Beaver Island and in Little Traverse
Bay. 

Southern Lake Michigan.
Open water except 5 tenths medium lake ice along parts of the
eastern shore. 

Green Bay.
9 tenths thick lake ice. Consolidated thick lake ice in Bays de Noc
and southern Green Bay.
